Routine Inspection

It is a mandatory requirement for all private and commercial vehicles to undergo a Routine Inspection at RICVIS, in order to certify compliance to regulations. During this inspection, we will check the legality and roadworthiness of the vehicle. The routine inspection duration for Private vehicle is once every year, while commercial vehicle is every six months.

Re-Inspection

If your vehicle fails to meet the requirements and standards of an Initial, Special or Routine Inspection, you will be required to rectify the problem(s) and come back for a re-inspection. We will re-inspect the previously failed item(s).

All Commercial,Government and  Private Vehicles  are encouraged to undergo inspections to ascertain the roadworthiness of the vehicle and that it is in accordance with the regulations.

Vehicle inspection is a procedure mandated by national or sub-national governments in many developed and fast developing countries, in which a vehicle is inspected with sophisticated equipment to ensure that it conforms to regulations governing safety. Based on a Vehicle Tester Manual , the following checks will be carried out to ascertain than your vehicle is road worthy: Emission Test Light Test Suspension Test Brake Test Wheel Alignment Test- (these tests are computerized). Other areas visual tests like: Under body inspection, Interior inspection, Seat belt, … etc are also carried out.

The Operation hours for inspection at all our centers are 8:0Am – 5:00pm weekdays and 9:00Am to 12:00

CLOSED on  Saturdays

NO– you have to come to one of our Test Centres
If you PASS the test, you will get a Certificate for the next 12 month (For private vehicles and 6 months for Commercial vehicles) If you fail – you have to come back for a booked Retest within a 30 day window. If you miss this time window – you have to undergo an initial Test again.
No – All Vehicles are expected to undergo periodic routines inspection as applicable

We have since ensured the reduction of rickety vehicles and accidents in the state via our periodic vehicle inspection.
